The Crown letter
THE CROWN LETTER was born in April 2020, at the dawn of the Covid crisis,
as shock and desolation paralyzed minds.
The urgent realization took hold of French artist Natacha Nisic that
a collective and international response had to be forged.
In times of catastrophe, art cannot retreat; in times of suffocation,
it must breathe and diffuse its oxygen.
Without means, without institutional support,
Natacha Nisic envisioned a website and immediately turned
to artist friends from all countries and generations.
Around her, a collective swiftly formed,
without a conductor or an editorial line,
driven by a shared necessity.
With The Crown Letter, they invent an open-contoured “we”.
As months passed, the dialogue deepened, collective works emerged.
The Crown Letter reveals itself as an online exhibition,
releasing each week a surge of new creations:
videos, photographs, sculptures, poetry, and prose.
It stands as a polyphonic manifesto.

When it happened in Nigeria April 14th 2014,
I couldn’t pronounce BRING BACK OUR GIRLS.
I could only Pray for our girls.
I couldn’t pray without pronouncing your names, more than two hundred.
I couldn’t pray without asking Michaël Grébil to compose music for this prayer.
WITH YOU.

Heart Archives
THIS IS MY HEART
In 2008, I recorded the beating of my heart so that it might join
Christian Boltanski's LES ARCHIVES DU CŒUR (THE HEART ARCHIVES).
Since 2005, he has gathered recordings of heartbeats
from around the world, weaving together the hearts of all humanity.
A universal and utopian endeavor, LES ARCHIVES DU CŒUR are preserved
since 2010 on the Japanese island of Teshima, nestled in the Seto Inland Sea.
